# Set up email notifications (SMTP)

> Connect your email service so AMC can send notifications, then check every delivery.

**Who can do this:** Tenant Admin, Super Admin

> **Important:** Email is off for every organization until an admin connects an email service. Notifications that would have been sent before then are logged as **Skipped** and are never sent later.

## Connect your email service

1. Go to **Settings > Notifications**.
2. Under **Service**, choose **Exchange Online (OAuth)** or **Other SMTP server**.
3. For Exchange Online, enter the **Directory (tenant) ID** and **Application (client) ID** of your Entra app and its **Client secret**.
4. For another server, enter the **Server** host name, **TLS mode** (STARTTLS on 587 or implicit TLS on 465), **Username**, and **Password or API key**.
5. Under **Sender**, enter the **From address** and **From name**. Your email service must allow that address.
6. Select **Save Changes**, then **Send test email**. The test goes to your own address.

Secrets are write-only and stored in a key vault. Leave the field blank to keep the stored one.

## Test without emailing people

Turn on **Test mode** and enter a **Catch-all address**. Every email then goes to that address instead of its recipient. Turn it off when you're done.

## Check deliveries

The **Delivery log** at the bottom of the page lists every notification email, newest first. Filter by status or notification type.

| Status | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| **Sent** | Your email server accepted it. Later bounces aren't shown. |
| **Queued** | Waiting to send. |
| **Failed** / **Bounced** | Not delivered. Check **Details**. |
| **Opted out** | The recipient turned that notification off. |
| **Skipped** | Email wasn't configured when it was due. |

The connection badge reads **Working**, **Failing**, **Not tested**, or **Not configured**. Each person chooses their own notifications; see [Choose which notifications you get](https://www.agentmissioncontrol.ai/guide/notification-preferences/).
