# Register agents and workflows

Agent Mission Control user guide > Administration

> Connect an agent or workflow to AMC, import from Foundry, and manage its lifecycle and owner.

**Who can do this:** Tenant Admin, Department Manager, Agent Manager. Reassign owner: Tenant Admin, Department Manager.

The **Agents** page lists every workflow and agent connected to AMC. Filter by department, kind, adapter, source, or status, or check **Orphaned only** to find resources whose owner has left.

## Register a workflow or agent

1. On **Agents**, select **Register**.
2. Enter a **Name**, choose the **Kind** (Workflow or Agent) and **Adapter**, and pick a **Department**. Kind and adapter can't change later.
3. Under **Connection**, enter the **Endpoint URL**. For custom endpoints, add path segments, or check that the resource uses the AMC SDK.
4. Under **Authentication**, choose **Managed Identity** or **API key**. API keys are stored securely and never shown again.
5. Optional: mark the resource as sensitive, set artifact retention, declare an **Input contract** (the parameters a run accepts), and list **Declared steps**.
6. Select **Register**. AMC checks the endpoint and reports **Healthy**, **Unreachable**, or **Access not granted**.

> **Note:** With managed identity, grant AMC's identity a least-privilege role on the resource first. Without it you'll see **Access not granted**. Only a Tenant Admin can use managed identity with a self-hosted endpoint.

## Import from Foundry

Select **Import from Foundry**, enter the **Foundry project endpoint** (the project URL, not an agent URL), choose a department and authentication, and select **Import project**. Re-running is safe: existing registrations stay, and only new ones are added.

## Manage a registration

Select **Manage** on a row. From there you can **Run**, **Edit**, set an SLA override, set a golden run, and under **Workflow settings** turn scheduling on or off and set the **Default assignee**, **Manual cost / run**, and **HITL cost**.

## Deactivate or delete

| Action | Effect |
| --- | --- |
| **Deactivate** | Archives the resource so it can't run. Run history and ROI are kept. |
| **Delete** | Permanently removes the resource with its version history, triggers, and all run history, including ROI and interventions. |

Use Deactivate to retire something while keeping its history. Neither works while a run is in progress.

## Reassign an owner

Select **Reassign** on the row (or **Reassign owner** on its page), choose the **New owner**, and confirm. Resources whose owner no longer has access show an **Orphaned** badge.
