# Start a workflow run manually

Agent Mission Control user guide > Daily work

> Use Run now to start a workflow, fill its inputs, and pick who answers its interventions.

**Who can do this:** Tenant Admin, Department Manager, Agent Manager

1. Select **Run now** on Active Work, on **See All Runs**, or next to a workflow on the **Agents** page.
2. In **Start a workflow run**, choose the **Workflow type**. You only see enabled types in departments you can access.
3. Fill in the workflow's inputs. Required inputs are marked with an asterisk.
4. Optional: set **Assignee** to route this run's interventions to a specific person. Leave it as **Workflow default** to use the workflow's normal routing.
5. Optional: add a **Label** (up to 80 characters) so you can find the run later.
6. Select **Start run**. The run starts immediately and AMC opens it.

Runs you start by hand carry a **Manual** badge.

## If the run won't start

| Message | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| A budget block with **Request a budget override** | The department has hit its budget cap. Request an override; see [budgets and overrides](https://www.agentmissioncontrol.ai/guide/budgets-and-overrides/). |
| Runs are switched off for this workflow type | Someone disabled the workflow. Re-enable it from **Agents > Manage > Workflow settings**. |
| Some run inputs need attention | Fix the fields highlighted in the dialog. |
| This workflow is sensitive | Sensitive workflows can only be assigned to the department's manager. Pick them or keep the default. |
| No workflow types available for your role | You have no runnable workflow types. Ask a Tenant Admin. |
